Welcome to Rotary!

What would it take to change the world? Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders

About the McAllen South Rotary Club

The McAllen South Rotary Club was chartered in 1973.  The Club is comprised of nearly 100 men and women who work, or have worked, in a variety of local industries.  The Club conducts two signature fundraisers during the year to raise funds for local charities and to provide scholarships to students going to college.  Oktoberfest is held in the fall of each year and is a homage to the great October festivals around the world.  The Crawfish Boil is a joint fundraising event with other McAllen Rotary Clubs and brings a little bit of Cajun culture to the Valley.  Additionally, the Club participates several service projects throughout the year such as the Comfort House Walk-a-Thon, building soldier care packages, McAllen Memorial High School Interact Club, and others.

The Club is also a great place to meet new friends and to learn more about the Community.  We have regular social events, called fellowships, throughout the year.  In the past, we have held pool tournaments, happy hours, skeet shoots, fishing excursions and holiday parties.  Our weekly meetings feature guest speakers/programs from the community who speak about issues important to the area.  Its common for the McAllen mayor or other city official to stop by.  We have also had state and national leaders visit us as well, but our speakers don't always have to be government officials.  Interesting guest speakers/programs have included boot makers, tequila tasting, pro athletes, astronomy lessons, ballet dancers and many others.

The McAllen South Rotary Club meets every Friday at the McAllen Country Club.  The meeting starts at noon.  We would love for you to come by and visit.
